Gondola guidance

Good looking city, Venice, even when the weather is overcast.
Here’s the view down the Grand Canal from the Rialto Bridge. Every single person who has been to Venice has taken exactly this photograph. Tourists have been marauding through the city for at least a couple of centuries getting their portraits painted and taking photographs of each other so a blog mini-tour featuring me and me seems not wholly inappropriate.

This photo is a little blurry but I include it because it is taken in the Piazza San Marco and so is a necessary counterpoint to the canal view. It might also be the only time I am snapped betwixt a wedding in San Marco cathedral and cocktails in a palazzo in which Casanova worked his magic.

Enfin, a bog standard corner of Venice. No crowds, no churches, no spots or stars on the map and still pretty scenic.
